Restrict Child Access to Gambling & Pornography
The digital age is presenting unprecedented challenges for our children. Federal Governments have introduced the following acts in an attempt to provide Australians with internet safety:
- The Privacy Act 1995
- Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Act 2012
- Enhancing Online Safety Act 2015
- Online Safety Act 2021
The eSafety Commissioner was first established in 2015 as the Children’s eSafety Commissioner and given enhanced powers through the Online Safety Act amendments in 2021.
Despite this, Australian children have unrestricted access to online pornography, violent content, and gambling advertising. Young men know more about betting odds than their history. Young women are having their self-worth undermined.
The National Workers Alliance demand that these bodies follow their charter and protect children.
